Welcome to my portfolio website. I am a student of Communication Design at the University of Southampton, and here I shall present the outcomes of my first semester's studies: the research processes and results of four projects, along with RRR.

PROJECT 4 Non-human interactionBird Collision Prevention Glasses
1. Research and Process:
2. Brief:
Develop lightweight, high-transparency bird protection eyewear that effectively prevents bird injuries from collisions with glass, whilst not impairing their daily activities or field of vision.
3. Story:
Whenever I walk along the streets of the CBD, I invariably come across the bodies of small birds.
Looking up, I see that the skyscrapers are all clad in glass-aesthetically pleasing, yet contributing significantly to light pollution. This very phenomenon causes birds to lose their bearings, leading them to collide with the glass and perish. Thus, I conceived the idea of designing anti-collision spectacles for birds. These compact, lightweight spectacles, ergonomically tailored to avian physiology, would help them avoid the reflections off urban glass, thereby reducing mortality rates and fostering a harmonious coexistence between city and bird.
4. Reflection:
During the initial research phase for designing bird collision-prevention spectacles, the focus was solely on collision prevention functionality, neglecting the physiological characteristics and behavioural patterns of birds. Consequently, shortcomings exist in terms of adaptability and comfort. When employing PACT analysis, insufficient consideration was given to the interrelationships between bird flocks, activities, environments, and technologies, with rigid application of frameworks. Subsequent research and analysis will be optimised to incorporate avian characteristics, ensuring designs balance protective measures with natural behaviours.
